Wine education
booms
in China

Chinese wine buyers are becoming far more educated and their expectations of quality are rising. Especially young Chinese consumers are increasingly seeking genuine products from wineries with a story – not a virtual business. They want to know that they are getting a consistent, good quality wine with a story. They want to understand the wines they are buying. That’s why good wine education is a growing market in China and that is also why the international wine industry need to engage in this field and ensure the best information is available.

Also in 2016 TopWine China featured numerous high-quality events for wine tasting and education to meet the rising demand for professional wine training in China. One of the highlights was the Decanter Master Class as well as three different Master Classes given by James Halliday, the respected wine critic and vigneron from Australia. Organising these ‘knowledge transfer’ events underline TopWine China's striving for a sustainable long-term commitment on the Chinese wine market.
